The New Baby Boy {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

This little guy was as sweet as he could be. At not even a week old, he was sleepy and content throughout our session. He had a gorgeous well-lit room right in the center of Washington DC. His sweet parents (and visiting grandparents) were obviously smitten with him. They had received this white basket as a gift and I loved using this as a basic white background that his gorgeous skin looked great again. I loved photographing this little guy and hope he's always so calm.

Sweet Baby in the Garden {Washington DC Family Photography}

This mom contacted at a perfect time. By the time we scheduled our session, her sweet little girl was just about 7 months which is a great age to capture. Her mellow and friendly personality shined and I loved capturing her in the morning light in beautiful Bishop's Garden. She was happy to show off her newest skill of sitting up and loved looking around at all of the sights of the gardens. I loved capturing this little girl and look forward to watching her grow.

A New Family of Three {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

I loved meeting one of Washington DC's newest families last week. While their daughter showed up a few days early, they were already such naturals and wonderful parents. They knew the tricks to soothe her and were even able to get her to snooze away for most of our hour together. I loved meeting these three (and the furry member of their family) and hope baby H continues to snooze be such a doll.

Maternity Session in the Park {Washington DC Maternity Photographer}

Washington DC has some weird weather and while I know the lack of real winter (at least during the winter months) bothered some people, it worked out wonderfully for my outdoor photo sessions. These sweet parents-to-be lucked out and we got a spring-like day in beautiful Bishop's Garden. They were warm and easy to talk to which means our photo session feels like a fun hang out and definitely does not feel like work. I can't wait to meet their little one soon-hope baby is as wonderful at photos as her parents!

Nine Days Old {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

As I shared with these parents, newborn sessions usually go one of two ways. Either the baby is awake the whole time buy fussy or they are asleep the whole time. Its not quite as common that they are awake but calm and complacent. But little baby K broke that rule. He was alert and awake the entire time but happy to just lay low and look cute. I gave him an A+ for behavior at only 9 days old. He makes being a DC newborn photographer easy! Thanks for being so good little guy.

A New Little Lady {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

I loved meeting this little lady a few weeks ago. She had a beautiful well lit nursery and two very loving parents. Her parents are both teachers so are already well quipped with patience and a love for kids. She is one lucky girl. After a few eating breaks we finally got a few minutes of her sleeping. And I swiftly (and silently) was able to catch these sweet photos of her in her crib. I loved meeting this little girl and can't wait to watch her grow.

Pretty in Pink {Bethesda Family Photography}

This little girl's mom contacted me when she was just a few months pregnant to ask about photographing her sweet baby to be. I've known her for many years and it was wonderful to see her as a new mom.  It is clear how smitten these two new parents are with their little baby H. Baby H was obviously very happy to be the center of their world too. She barely fussed during our time together-I hope she was just as good during her first trip she was preparing for the very next day. I loved meeting Baby H and look forward to seeing her grow!

Two Parents to Be! {Washington DC Maternity Photography}

These two are expecting their first baby in January. We met on a chilly afternoon in December but these two were troopers hiking around Meridian Hill Park. They don't know the sex or name of this baby yet but I know this baby will be well loved. They are both so calm and sweet, I'm sure they'll make wonderful parents. Congratulations S family!

Six Days New {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

This little lady was not even a week old when I met her. She was a perfect little photo subject, sleeping the entire session. I love photographing newborn in those first two weeks and this makes the sessions so calm. We did almost all of our sessions in her parents beautiful bedroom. Her canine siblings also made an appearance-I loved seeing how this new family fit together so well. I hope her parents get many more restful days (and nights).

Two Happy Brothers {Washington DC Family Photography}

These two boys were some of my favorite photo subjects all year. They were incredibly well behaved and were very prepared for our photo session by their dad who even "practiced" with them before hand. The promised reward of Starburst also helps! They were smiley and funny and very not shy at all. And these curls? Thank you R family for a fun session!
