Five Months in Rock Creek Park {Washington DC Family Photographer}

This sweet mom contacted me saying she was finally ready to do some family photos with their sweet 5 month old baby girl. And based on how happy and cooperative baby S was, I'd say this was a perfect time. She smiled and giggled all morning despite the early morning wakeup. And have you ever seen such beautiful blue eyes! And we all lucked out that we didn't melt from the mid-summer humidity. I loved photographing this sweet family.

Backyard Family Fun {Washington DC Family Photographer}

Usually when a DC family contacts me about family photos, I recommend we do them at a local park. And while that is usually beautiful, this special session in this family's very own backyard was fantastic. It was so fun to incorporate their Petworth home into their family photos. These girls have the best smile and this was such a fun and hopefully pain free morning.

Morning in the Garden {Washington DC Family Photographer}

As you'll see around here, I spend a lot of early mornings in Bishop's Garden. Its so beautiful all year round and relatively quiet which makes it a beautiful place to take family photos. This morning was no exception. These friends are some of my favorite photo subjects and this little girl was full of energy that morning. I was happy to capture her in her two year old glory...and the bribe of chocolate at the end didn't hurt either.

A Beautiful Mother's Day Present {Washington DC Family Photography}

I was so happy when this sweet new dad contacted me. He wanted to get his wife, a first time mom, a special mother's day present. A family photography session is such a wonderful idea. We were able to capture their sweet 5 month old and of course both of them. They are lucky to have such a sweet little girl who put up with hot temperatures and a few outfit changes. Happy first Mother's Day!

A Capitol Family Photo Session {Washington DC Family Photography}

I loved this session for so many reasons. We lucked out with the weather being relatively mild this morning. These two kids could not get any cuter. Big brother stole the show with his antics and little sister was wonderfully behaved just observing.  Their parents were wonderful as well and happy to chase after this little guy. This made for a wonderful session with this fun family!

This is Two {Washington DC Family Photography}

This session perfectly encapsulated this two year old. There was lots of movement and distraction and of course lots of giggles as we walked around Yards Park. This little guy loved to look around and explore, walk up and down steps and be tickled by mom and dad. I'm glad we got to capture him at this fun age!

Eight Months Old {Washington DC Baby Photography}

I was so happy when this new dad contacted me with an idea for his sweet wife's birthday-a family photo session of their adorable baby. While he was felling a little under the weather, you couldn't tell with his sweet smiles. I love the colors they dressed in, especially in contrast to the green grass of Rock Creek Park. This is one sweet family.

The Whole Family {Washington DC Family Photography}

I was so happy when an old friend contacted me asking me to take photos of her whole extended family. It is rare that all 4 kids are home in Silver Spring, Maryland and we were able to capture this sweet family in their parents back yard during the few days they were all together. Even Grandpa joined! Despite the looming rain during the entire session and a bunch of different schedules, I am so glad we could capture all of these beautiful people.

A Brisk Morning in Old Town {Washington DC Family Photography}

I met this family a year and a half ago when mom was just pregnant with the one year old you see here. During that session, big brother was super shy-not wanting to smile until the very end. Well a year and a half made a big difference in both boys. It was great to see how much they had both grown and was a very different experience full of fun and laughter and singing.

One Year Later {Washington DC Family Photography}

This was one of those sessions I look back on and think that was so easy and fun. This was one of the happiest one years olds I've ever met and at this point I've met my fair share of one year olds. I had met her and her parents a year ago when I took their newborn pictures. That tiny little newborn has grown into such a sweet and happy little girl. We had a beautiful not too cold afternoon at Bishop's Garden. I hope this little lady continues to be so happy-Happy First Birthday!
