Mom and Dad to Be! {Washington DC Maternity Photographer}

We really lucked out with this session. It was an unseasonably warm day in October and the rains that had been non-stop briefly took a break so we get get these beautiful pictures of these two parents to be! We had almost the whole park to ourselves and were able to take advantage of all the beautiful sights. Can’t wait to meet their little lady.

New Year New Life {Washington DC Newborn Photographer

I loved meeting this little lady and her sweet parents who live in Northern Virginia. They were my very first session of the new year and I was so glad to start the new year of with such a sweet little babe. She slept through most of our session and when she woke, she quietly looked around and even gave us a little grin. Her mom had some beautiful hair accessories which helped make this such a wonderful session. Happy New Year!

These ladies were referred to me from a previous client. They were both so excited for the new little bundle of joy. This particular day was quite cold but I appreciated their willingness to ditch their coats for a few minutes at a time to get some wonderful shots of the beautiful moms to be!

An Evening in Alexandria {Washington DC Maternity Photography}

This mom and dad to be lucked out with beautiful weather and a beautiful setting. They specifically requested we do our session in Old Town since that is where they got engaged (and did wedding photos). I'm glad we got to capture yet another milestone on these same cobblestone streets.

A New Little Lady {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

I loved meeting this little lady a few weeks ago. She had a beautiful well lit nursery and two very loving parents. Her parents are both teachers so are already well quipped with patience and a love for kids. She is one lucky girl. After a few eating breaks we finally got a few minutes of her sleeping. And I swiftly (and silently) was able to catch these sweet photos of her in her crib. I loved meeting this little girl and can't wait to watch her grow.

These two are expecting their first baby in January. We met on a chilly afternoon in December but these two were troopers hiking around Meridian Hill Park. They don't know the sex or name of this baby yet but I know this baby will be well loved. They are both so calm and sweet, I'm sure they'll make wonderful parents. Congratulations S family!

A Soon to Be Family of Four! {Washington DC Family Photographer}

This was a beautiful fall morning in Northern Virginia. And this was a perfect example of how many toddler sessions go. We start off at the beginning and I get a lot of black stares. This little guy was shy and reserved and none of jokes and tricks were working. But after some time (and some tickles) he suddenly opened up and was as playful as ever. And of course, by the time it was time to go home he was ready to play and run! I'm so glad I got to capture so many sides of this little boy!

Six Weeks of Love {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

While many parents want to capture their brand new newborns, I often get emails from Washington DC Parents saying something along the lines of "we weren't quite ready for photos in those first few weeks but still want to capture our little one while they are still so little". This month I did two 6 week sessions because of this. These babies are a little more alert, a little more round, and this is still a wonderful time to capture them. I loved meeting baby S. She had a beautiful well lit nursery and two loving parents to assist in making her photo session so great.

Two Parents To Be... {Washington DC Maternity Photography}

Well I guess its time I update this blog since this sweet couple will be meeting their little boy soon! These two were so easy to photograph. Despite the sweltering heat and humidity in Meridian Hill Park that night, this maternity session was a breeze. They are comfortable, easy, and did not once complain about the weather which was quite a feat for that week. I can already tell they will be wonderful parents and can't wait to meet their sweet little boy this fall.

Miss Q has Arrived! {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

May seemed to be the month of newborns! This little girl;s session will definitely be remembered. Not only was she an exceptional newborn with a gorgeous full head of hair and a beautiful apartment to settle into. And of course she is a curious little girl and was able to stay awake the whole session, quite the big feat for a newborn! However, she was the first newborn who I had photographed who had their own handmade by her grandma fox costume. You think tiny newborns are cute? Try putting them in a tiny hand made animal costumes! She is a loved little lady-her parents are smitten with her. After seeing her, I surely understand why. I look forward to watching baby Q grow!
