It was so nice to see one of my favorite families in DC for a fun morning in the garden! The best part of spring sessions is there is not quite as much sweating as DC summertime… and of course there was some laughing, some tickling, and even some poop jokes. And lots of smiles from these two fun kids and their parents!

This local DC family’s photo session was a joyful whirlwind of laughter, wiggles, and candid moments. With three young kids under eight, there was a lot of jumping and chatting. My goal was to capture sweet sibling hugs and spontaneous silliness in the golden hour light and I’d say we aced it!

I met this family for the first time before their daughter was even born. All three kids are hilarious and I love photographing them every year at Bishop’s Garden in Washington DC. They keep me on my toes and we’re always laughing by the end.

I love seeing this crew every year—they’re basically photo session VIPs at this point. I’ve been photographing them since big brother was a tiny newborn, back in their classic DC row house days. Now we’ve all upgraded to Chevy Chase, and I’m so happy we’re still making photo magic together.

These boys? 100% wiggles, 1000% giggles. Every session is part workout, part comedy show, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. So glad we get to freeze all the fun (and the chaos) year after year!

I met this family almost a year ago when I went to their Washington DC apartment to do their newborn photos for their new baby boy. Well now he is already sitting up and a big bonus: it happened to be big brother’s third birthday. What a fun way to make the special day!

I believe this is the third year in a row I’ve photographed this family and this little guy just keeps getting cuter. He has such a fun and funny personality and I love capturing it. His parents are so easy and loving and of course a cute dog makes every photo better!

Could you imagine a happier one year old? And these were all before we watched her dig in to her first piece of cake ever! She was full of smiles despite the warm DC temperatures this August morning. I am so glad that her parents were able to capture this sweet stage.
