A New Home {Northern Virginia Family Photographer}

This sweet family had just moved to their beautiful new home in VA. A huge perk of this new home was this wonderful front yard. Not only did this yard provide a beautiful backdrop but it also seems to be little M's favorite place to play. He warmed up right away and would happily pose for the camera and show me all of the exciting new things he's found in his front yard. I loved meeting this family and capture sweet little M in all his glory.

The Fall Foliage Maternity Session {Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer}

From the moment I met them, I knew I'd love working with these two. Not only are they easy going and fun but they did their research. They told me all of the things they learned online for how to take the best maternity pictures. And they brought their sweet sister along to help out with their sweet pup. He was a great addition to these maternity pictures and I wonder how he'll feel in a few months when the newest addition arrives. To be continues in January, 2016...

Three Generations {Silver Spring Family Photographer}

I loved every member of this family. I've known some of them for a good part of a decade and their warmth and sense of humor always shines. Though working with three generations of one family, especially with toddlers and a six week old (!), can be quite the challenge this was totally worth it. And if you're wondering how we got such genuine smiles in some of these, it helps having a very funny grandpa do all sorts of moves behind me. I need him at every session! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon L family!

Rock Creek Family Fall Mini-Session {Washington DC Family Photographer}

With almost two year olds you never know what they'll be like. They could be cooperative or want nothing to do with the camera. They could love being held by their parents in sweet poses or want to run free. Well this two year old was any photographer's dream. She never whined or complained despite freezing temperatures. She never ran off. And she did almost any pose her dad told her to. In fact, he stood behind me and she just copied him. And having two awesome parents didn't hurt. Thank you sweet E for being such a fantastic photo subject. Two years olds in DC-learn from her!

Finally a GIRL Newborn Session {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

What a treat it was to take pictures of sweet Baby E. I've seen quite a trend this year in newborn sessions and that trend is BOY. Almost all of them (well all but 2 to be exact) have been boys. So it was quite fun to capture this pretty little girl. She has a gorgeous nursery filled with natural light and two parents who adore her. During my two hours I saw everything that goes into a newborn-a diaper change (or two), feeding, sleeping, soothing, and a tiny bit of crying. I loved capture all of that and hopefully these photos will always remind her parents of what a special time this was.

A Newborn Wide Awake! {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

I was so excited to meet this little guy. He was bright eyed and alert the entire time I was there but miraculously never cried. For a newborn session, that was quite the success story. I loved the way he looked at his mom and dad. He clearly knows they're special (which I know as well). Having a beautifully lit nursery never hurt either. Thanks for letting me capture these special moments!

Meridian Hill Park Sunset Summer Maternity Session {Washington DC Maternity Photographer}

One of the sweetest parts of this maternity session was that it was a surprise "pre-mothers day" gift from the dad to be. The cool (and rare) summer breeze and wonderful dusk light helped too. It was so fun to capture two dear friends at such an exciting juncture in their life. I know they'll make great parents in a few short months.

7 Month Smiles! {Washington DC Family Photographer}

Let me tell you it sure was hard to pick a favorite from this session. His cheeky grin and gorgeous blue eyes make every picture better than the next! The great abundant light in this bedroom made a great setting. This was the same bedroom that this sweet babe was photographed in 7 months before. But this time he was quick to crawl and squirm around. Luckily his mom is quicker....for now.

A lot can change in 6 months. And for this little guy (who you might remember from his newborn days), his whole world is different. He can now sit up, crawl shockingly fast, and put anything and everything in his mouth. But his best quality these days: the huge grin he gives to basically anything and anyone despite how tired or under the weather he was felling that day. He is a photographer's dream.

A Very Sleepy Newborn in Northern Virginia {Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer}

Meet sweet baby A. He gets the award for the sleepiest newborn I've ever photographed. In fact, I never saw his eyes open the entire two hours I was there. A dream for his parents and for this photographer who is used to newborns much fussier. He didn't even wake when his canine brother jumped very close. I could not resist the shots of the two of them together after that.
