A New Family of Three {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

I loved meeting one of Washington DC's newest families last week. While their daughter showed up a few days early, they were already such naturals and wonderful parents. They knew the tricks to soothe her and were even able to get her to snooze away for most of our hour together. I loved meeting these three (and the furry member of their family) and hope baby H continues to snooze be such a doll.

Nine Days Old {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

As I shared with these parents, newborn sessions usually go one of two ways. Either the baby is awake the whole time buy fussy or they are asleep the whole time. Its not quite as common that they are awake but calm and complacent. But little baby K broke that rule. He was alert and awake the entire time but happy to just lay low and look cute. I gave him an A+ for behavior at only 9 days old. He makes being a DC newborn photographer easy! Thanks for being so good little guy.

A New Little Lady {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

I loved meeting this little lady a few weeks ago. She had a beautiful well lit nursery and two very loving parents. Her parents are both teachers so are already well quipped with patience and a love for kids. She is one lucky girl. After a few eating breaks we finally got a few minutes of her sleeping. And I swiftly (and silently) was able to catch these sweet photos of her in her crib. I loved meeting this little girl and can't wait to watch her grow.

Six Days New {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

This little lady was not even a week old when I met her. She was a perfect little photo subject, sleeping the entire session. I love photographing newborn in those first two weeks and this makes the sessions so calm. We did almost all of our sessions in her parents beautiful bedroom. Her canine siblings also made an appearance-I loved seeing how this new family fit together so well. I hope her parents get many more restful days (and nights).

A New Little Man {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

This little boy was so well behaved. Considering how sweet his parents are, he met my expectations. He was very alert for being less than two weeks old and showed off his beautiful blue eyes. And I was even able to capture some sweet (and rare) newborn smiles while he laid on his daddy's chest. I loved meeting baby A and can't wait to watch him grow.

Two Weeks New {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

Photographing Sweet baby H was quite the treat. Not only is she simple adorable, she has a beautiful nursery and two very loving parents (and grandparents) who simple adore her. I loved how she simple curled up into her parents. She definitely feels comfortable being close to them. We snuck in a few shots when we were done on her gorgeous porch and hopefully everyone got a nap afterwards! I look forward to watching sweet little H grow!

Six Weeks of Love {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

While many parents want to capture their brand new newborns, I often get emails from Washington DC Parents saying something along the lines of "we weren't quite ready for photos in those first few weeks but still want to capture our little one while they are still so little". This month I did two 6 week sessions because of this. These babies are a little more alert, a little more round, and this is still a wonderful time to capture them. I loved meeting baby S. She had a beautiful well lit nursery and two loving parents to assist in making her photo session so great.

Once We Saw Him... {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

When this new mom contacted me she said what so many new moms in DC say to me "we weren't planning on doing newborn photos but once we saw him, we knew we just had to". These are the photos any newborn photographer wants to capture-the moments that take the parents breath away and you know they'll want to remember for many years.

At Home with Baby M {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This guy-all six weeks and 17 pounds-was absolutely adorable. His cherubic face and mellow personality made him a pleasure to photography. His parents are obviously smitten with him and it is very obvious why. How could you not want to hold and hug that little guy all day? I loved meeting this darling family of three and I cannot wait to watch this little guy grow.

Sweet Baby Blue Eyes {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

People always ask me if I think all newborns all look the same. Of course the answer is no, especially not in the eyes of their parents. But this little guy such a unique look with his gorgeous blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair. He had a gorgeous blue nursery in a stars theme do compliment this. All of these made for one of my favorite DC newborn sessions. Thanks for letting me come capture you little L!
