An old favorite: the K Family in Meridian Hill Park {Washington DC Family Photographer}

You might remember this family from their newborn session a mere six months ago. Well little E has grown quite a bit and now this little girl has her own personality. She was a bit tired during our morning at Meridian Hill Park so I captured a few more shots back at their home near U street. She is full of life and adventure and I even got to capture some of her first moments standing up in her crib on camera. She was clearly quite pleased with herself. Thanks little E and family for a fun morning together.

A Beautiful Baby Boy {Washington DC Photographer}

This little boy already has a great life. He has two parents who love him and a sister dog who already watches over him like a third parent. A beautiful apartment in Arlington and more baby clothes than he could ever need. What more could he want? I knew his parents long before he was born and already know that they're well prepared for the job. Welcome sweet baby A to this wonderful world!

Little Miss A {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This is definitely one the best behaved newborns I have photographed. She lives with her loving parents in Glover Park and they have of course fallen in love with her. She is a little older than most of my newborn sessions-she was already a month old by the time I got to photograph her. But she still has the soft skin and curious eyes of a newborn with a little weight on her. Her mom created a beautiful nursery and I love the yellow sheets behind her beautiful skin. She never cried the entire time and was cooperative with anything we wanted. She was a pleasure and I can't wait to watch her grow!

Three Generations {Washington DC Family Photographer}

I have known this family for a long time. A really long time. So long that my mom still had to drive me when I went to their house. One of my favorite things to do at their house growing up was to look at their old family photos where they were often dressed alike (all 4 siblings!). So it was quite the wonderful experience to see them all grown up, some with kids of their own. These four siblings have a special bond and I hoped to capture that this very sunny morning in Atlanta. The fact that they also have adorable offspring helps for sure. While I think we all could have used a nap after this session, I hope these photos are ones they will look back on with love.

Meridian Hill Park in the Morning {Washington DC Family Photographer}

Its amazing how different personalities can show at only seven months. Some people think a baby is a baby. And I might have felt the same until I photographed this one. Despite being woken from his nap a few minutes after he fell asleep and suddenly plopped in some wet grass, this guy was all smiles. In fact, for the entire hour in the morning cold he never cried. It helps that he has wonderful parents and is as cute as a button. That, along with the early morning light made for a beautiful family session for these three.

Sweet Brothers {Potomac Newborn Photographer}

Sometimes you walk into a house with a newborn and everything is silent. The parents are whispering, the baby is sleeping soundly, and I feel like I should talk in a hushed town. Not in the W house. As soon as I got there, two year old big brother was talkative and friendly. He was interested in his little brother but only for a few short minutes before he was off to the next adventure. His little brother, though small in size, already had a large presence in this family. He has a gorgeous head of hair and a calm demeanor which makes for a perfect match. Good luck W family in all your new adventures!

Seven Months of Sweetness {Washington DC Baby Photographer}

I had met baby M with his parents right after he was born and his mom asked me when the best time to photograph him would be. While the real answer is "anytime" I told her 7 months is a great age. Sure enough, I was right (phew!) and this guy was as smiley and sweet as ever. He never cried despite being woken up when I got there and the amazing light in their Logan Circle condo made for fantastic photos. Baby M was an all star and I can't wait to see what the next seven months bring!

A Time for Growth-Bishop's Garden Maternity Session {Washington DC Maternity Photographer}

Despite how beautiful it was on this evening, DC spring weather was not very "spring-like" for a few days there in March. Freezing temperatures and rain made outdoor sessions impossible. So after rescheduling a few times, we finally got out session time and I'm glad we did it then. Four days later, a maternity session would no longer be in order-their baby boy arrived! Luckily we got to capture T's last few days (!) of pregnancy in a beautiful spring like setting...just in time!

A New Little Star {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This newborn session was definitely one of my favorites. It took me a whole 3 minutes to walk there as this little guy conveniently lives two blocks down the street from me. They have loads of natural light and he was so easy to photography. His parents are already smitten with him and he is definitely the star of the show. I look forward to watch this sweet little guy grow up and hopefully seeing him around the neighborhood. Thanks for letting me capture this special time with new baby H!

Northern Virginia's Newest Girl {Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer}

On a cold day in January, I somehow ended up in one of the warmest apartments in Northern Virginia. These two sweet people welcomed one of the most adorable newborns I've ever seen. She had cheeks for days and a full head of beautiful hair. And you'll remember their furry family member from their maternity session. He got to be included too (well, there was not much of an option according to him). Floor to ceiling windows provided ample light and an awesome loft apartment was a great setting. I can't wait to watch Baby M grow!
