At Home on Capitol Hill {Washington DC Family Photographer}

When I talked with this Mom about doing a family session, she suggested her home on Capitol Hill. While I am sometimes hesitant to do an at home family session since many Washington DC Families do not have very big or versatile outdoor spaces, I’m so glad we did this one! We lucked out with a very mild January afternoon and these kids both have killer smiles!

Little Boy Big World {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This little baby boy was welcomed to his home in Petworth but his well-traveled parents. The travel themed nursery was absolutely beautiful and I loved this amazing book room attached. This little baby wasn’t the only star of the show-their particularly friendly cat also loved to be included and I’m glad we were able to get some photos with him too!

Winter Family Photos {Washington DC Family Photographer}

Winter is not usually a popular time for family photos. Winter weather in Washington DC is nothing if not unpredictable. Its often cold and dreary and not ideal for family photos. But by some miracle we got a relatively mild day with one of my favorite families to photograph. They have two boys with big smiles and great curious personalities. Lovely parents too!

Two Weeks Old {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This photo session was a wonderful way to end 2018. This little lady barely made a peep during her entire photo session. I loved her beautiful and bright nursery in her Brookland home. Even her Grandma and pup got to be some photos. This is one loved little lady and I’m so glad I got to capture her first few days.

New Baby Girl {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This little lady was one sleepy girl for her first photo session. Within 15 minutes of arriving she was fast asleep and never woke up the whole time I was there. We even tried to get her to open up her eyes in the last few minutes but she was too comfortable snoozing away in her parents arms. What an easy and fun session!

Afternoon in Yard's Park {Washington DC Family Photographer}

I loved this mild December afternoon. This family was so fun-this guy kept us on our toes and entertained throughout our whole session. He had a lot of energy which was so fun to photograph and everyone was a great sport. I love Yards Park for these sessions-this helped make for such a fun hour!

Fun Fall Afternoon {Washington DC Family Photographer}

This is one of my oldest friends. I’ve known her since we were about the age that her daughter is now. Its so fun to see her growing family every year when I am in Atlanta. This session is a little different than my usual session but I love the results this year!

Northern Virginia's Newest Baby Boy {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This little guy (and his sweet parents) did so well for his first photo session. He had a particularly fun and energetic furry brother who was so sweet and curious and I loved photographing him as well. This sweet family was so warm and already so comfortable and in love with their little guy. I know they’re in for a lot of fun.

An Afternoon with Big Kids {Washington DC Family Photographer}

As you’ll see around here, most of my family sessions involve little ones. This means I play a lot of peek-a-boo and do a lot of silly noises-anything to get a big smile! But this session was so refreshing after a packed weekend full of toddler sessions. Older kids don’t require silly noises and this family brought this adorable and well-behaved doodle to keep us all entertained! Thanks for the lovely afternoon.

Little Guy Big World {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

I see a lot of nurseries but this one was one of my favorites. His parents have obviously traveled the world and incorporated that into this awesome space. This little guy was so good for our session-alert and awake and just enjoying being in his parents arms. They even had some fun costumes we put him in at the end-some he liked more than others! What a sweet little guy.
