An Afternoon in the Park {Washington DC Family Photography}

This family was so much fun. From the get go, the mom said they are a more 'candid playing' family and less 'posed everyone look at the camera' family. And she was right. I love working with families who can be themselves and I am just in the background hoping to capture their essence. These kids were both fun and funny. And obviously very loved. I loved capturing the F family and can't wait to watch them grow.

Three Little Girlis {Washington DC Family Photography}

I must admit that a family of 5 is not something I have photographed often. Perhaps its because many of my clients have young children or perhaps because I live in Washington DC. But this was quite the treat. Each of their daughters definitely has their own personality and ideas of what to do in front of the camera. However photographing this family was such a fun way to spend a fall morning and hopefully I will be able to watch them continue to grow into their own wonderful personalities.

Two Weeks New {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

Photographing Sweet baby H was quite the treat. Not only is she simple adorable, she has a beautiful nursery and two very loving parents (and grandparents) who simple adore her. I loved how she simple curled up into her parents. She definitely feels comfortable being close to them. We snuck in a few shots when we were done on her gorgeous porch and hopefully everyone got a nap afterwards! I look forward to watching sweet little H grow!

Six Weeks of Love {Washington DC Newborn Photography}

While many parents want to capture their brand new newborns, I often get emails from Washington DC Parents saying something along the lines of "we weren't quite ready for photos in those first few weeks but still want to capture our little one while they are still so little". This month I did two 6 week sessions because of this. These babies are a little more alert, a little more round, and this is still a wonderful time to capture them. I loved meeting baby S. She had a beautiful well lit nursery and two loving parents to assist in making her photo session so great.

Once We Saw Him... {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

When this new mom contacted me she said what so many new moms in DC say to me "we weren't planning on doing newborn photos but once we saw him, we knew we just had to". These are the photos any newborn photographer wants to capture-the moments that take the parents breath away and you know they'll want to remember for many years.

A Toddler's Morning {Washington DC Family Photography}

This little girl was lots of fun. While she may be small, she has a big personality. She kept all of us on our toes unwilling to sit or stand in one space for no more than...30 seconds, which actually seems like a long time in toddler time. She was a lot of fun to photograph as she was always doing something new. Her gorgeous blue eyes only added to these photographs. I hope these photos will remind this sweet family of this fun and wild time in toddlerhood.

One Year Full of Laughs {Washington DC Family Photography}

I loved this kid from the moment we met in Bethesda. He smiled at me instantly and took exactly no time to warm up. Despite just turning one the week before, he was on the move and he was quick. But once I could keep up with him, I got a lot of smiles. In fact it was impossible for me to choose my favorites because in every picture this guy had a big smile on his face. His parents were easy and helpful and this created these awesome shots. I loved meeting this one year old-Happy First Birthday!

Two Parents To Be... {Washington DC Maternity Photography}

Well I guess its time I update this blog since this sweet couple will be meeting their little boy soon! These two were so easy to photograph. Despite the sweltering heat and humidity in Meridian Hill Park that night, this maternity session was a breeze. They are comfortable, easy, and did not once complain about the weather which was quite a feat for that week. I can already tell they will be wonderful parents and can't wait to meet their sweet little boy this fall.

At Home with Baby M {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

This guy-all six weeks and 17 pounds-was absolutely adorable. His cherubic face and mellow personality made him a pleasure to photography. His parents are obviously smitten with him and it is very obvious why. How could you not want to hold and hug that little guy all day? I loved meeting this darling family of three and I cannot wait to watch this little guy grow.

Sweet Baby Blue Eyes {Washington DC Newborn Photographer}

People always ask me if I think all newborns all look the same. Of course the answer is no, especially not in the eyes of their parents. But this little guy such a unique look with his gorgeous blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair. He had a gorgeous blue nursery in a stars theme do compliment this. All of these made for one of my favorite DC newborn sessions. Thanks for letting me come capture you little L!
