I met this family for the first time before their daughter was even born. All three kids are hilarious and I love photographing them every year at Bishop’s Garden in Washington DC. They keep me on my toes and we’re always laughing by the end.

I had the absolute honor (and joy!) of photographing this adorable new trio in Brookland. Baby M totally stole the show—she was awake, asleep, and somehow nailing every pose like she read the shot list ahead of time. A total pro. Her parents? Just as delightful. And don’t even get me started on their condo—sunlight for days and a nursery so cute it could have its own Instagram account. Washington, DC never looked so cozy!
I loved meeting these parents to be! They had an idea of what they were looking for when it came to maternity photos and I hope I was able to capture what they want. I know some people are hesitant to get maternity photos done since you are not always feeling your best. But this time is so fleeting and maternity photos are one of the best ways to remember it.
This fam and I go way back—like, "tiny newborn in a swaddle" back. Their daughter (now a 5th grader?!) was one of the very first newborns I ever photographed, and yes, she was already serving cuteness and camera-ready vibes back then. Since then, I’ve had the joy of meeting her two little bros—each one bringing more adorable chaos than the last. The older siblings were so proud to show off their brand-new baby brother, and honestly, I think they might’ve been better photo assistants than me. Watching this family grow over the years has been such a treat, and getting to capture another sweet chapter in their Chevy Chase, MD home was the best.
This tiny little babe was an absolute dream to photograph—like, straight out of a baby modeling agency (if that’s a thing… and if not, it should be). Her parents scored some serious natural light in their DC row house bedroom—rare and magical, like finding parking in the city. She snoozed like a pro when we needed her to, then popped those eyes open just long enough to say, “Okay, you’ve got the shot, now back to my nap.” 😴
I don’t do the whole baby-as-a-burrito-in-a-basket thing, but I do love capturing them all snuggly and snoozing—and this little one totally understood the assignment. If only all Washington, DC newborns were this peaceful…
I love seeing this crew every year—they’re basically photo session VIPs at this point. I’ve been photographing them since big brother was a tiny newborn, back in their classic DC row house days. Now we’ve all upgraded to Chevy Chase, and I’m so happy we’re still making photo magic together.
These boys? 100% wiggles, 1000% giggles. Every session is part workout, part comedy show, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. So glad we get to freeze all the fun (and the chaos) year after year!
I met this family almost a year ago when I went to their Washington DC apartment to do their newborn photos for their new baby boy. Well now he is already sitting up and a big bonus: it happened to be big brother’s third birthday. What a fun way to make the special day!
These are very old friends of mine. In fact, I was there when they first met. They now have this beautiful family and wanted to get updated family photos as a birthday gift. I thought this was a great idea and I love that we could make a beautiful summer evening work-easier with bigger kids. Of course, having a big beautiful backyard to use helped too. If you can swing a summer evening session, I highly recommend it.
I was so glad this family let me capture their new baby boy in their new house in Chevy Chase, DC. Both big brother and little brother did great-one slightly more still than the other. Big brother was happy to play for a few minutes and then we were able to focus on the new baby.
This was the perfect time to photograph this little girl. People often ask when the best time to photograph your baby is? The easy answer: there is no bad time! She smiled and cooed and was loved on by her parents and grandparents. It was a beautiful Chevy Chase morning to capture this loving family.
